New Jeans

I ordered these today from shopbop.com. They are the Rich and Skinny 'High' jeans in Rinse. I've been really wanting some high-waisted jeans, and Nordstrom sent me the wrong ones when I ordered the gray ones they have on their site. Since it was the last pair in my size, I decided not to bother trying to get the issue corrected, and instead I just returned them. These have a little stretch in them, so hopefully they won't be too tight in the thigh. If I do have to pay to return them it won't be too bad, since I got free shipping.

I've also read about a R&S jean called 'Lanky' that I might try if these don't work out.

At first I wanted to tuck this in, because these jeans are supposedly high waisted (see picture below). However, they are a big too large in the waist since I've lost a little weight, and they aren't the extreme high waist that I think is really flattering with tucked in shirts, so in the end I felt more comfortable with this sweater un-tucked. The good thing is that this sweater is very fitted through the torso, so even un-tucked it shows my narrow waist.

I am getting my bangs trimmed today, so hopefully I can stop looking like I have a bowl cut!

Wednesday - A Banana Kind of Day

This skirt is new. I think it will be great in the summer and spring because it's a lighter color.

It may not look like I've lost weight, but...

I took this skirt to get altered. She's going to have to put pleats in it, because the zipper is on the side, and she doesn't have the right machine to re-attache a hidden zipper. I hope it turns out OK, since this is one of my favorite skirts!

This might look a little weird, but I like it, espcially with the brown boots. I haven't worn this dress since summer. Originally I was going to wear a black turtleneck with this, but thought that something with a v-neck would look better, since this has a deep v-neckline. I rolled the sleeves of my shirt up later, because I think the cuff is too much with this casual dress.

Getting dressed this morning was very frustrating. I tried on two skirts before this one, all inches too big in the waist, and this one wasn't much better! I need to get to my tailor ASAP, before I run out of things to wear!

Friday!

You can't really see it, but this is my new light-weight grey cardi. It's 3/4 sleeves, so I can wear it in colder weather, and it's pleated a little at the neckline, which is a v-neck.

I cannot get over how good these tights, shoes and the print of this dress go together. I just reallllly like it.

Acid Green Espadrilles

These are coming in the mail. I got a great deal on them. I got them because I think this acid green will make several of my outfits more modern looking and interesting this summer.

New skirt!

My first truly "high waist" item, and I love it. So flattering on my figure, especially in this knee length. I'm keeping my eye out now for some high waisted wide-leg jeans...The ones I have just aren't high waisted enough!

I wore this the next day with tights and a pair of dark red patent oxford heels, and a black cardigan. Sorry I didn't get a picture, I was trying to catch my bus! I barely made it.

Tuesday's new shoes

These shoes need to be stretched a bit in the toes, but other than that I really like them. They are only a 2 inch wedge heel, so good for wearing with most of my pants, they aren't peep toe or suede, so I can wear them when it rains, and I think the ruffle is very cute and stylish.

This skirt is too big on me and needs to be hemmed up by a couple of inches! When I get it taken in I want it to sit right at my natural waist. That's what happens, I guess, when you lose 10 pounds. I can't complain.

I LOVE these tights with this dress and also these shoes. It's really perfect. Love this outfit. I think I'll like it even better when I can wear my short sleeve grey cardigan over it in the summer.

I think that one of the reasons this dress works well on me is that I have a long torso, so those horizontal lines at the waist actually help me look more in proportion and make my legs appear to be longer. The full/A-line skirt helps too, and so does the knee-length.
