Today was all about neutrals, which isn't typically my favorite, but I really like these colors. New cream-colored leather jacket.

I'm still feeling a little under the weather...That's 9 days and counting...and my husband is now down for the count as well. Fun times. I'm at the stage where I can make it through a day of work, I have my voice back for the most part, but I cough all night long. It's slowly getting better, so I'm hoping that by the weekend I'll be back on my A-game...I hope. At least in time to nurse my husband.
I have been shopping online a LOT since I've been sick! Today I ordered some things from shopbop.com, including some socks. Yesterday the white leather jacket that is the twin to my black leather jacket arrived and looks smashing...and just in case that one didn't work out, I also found a cream leather jacket on giant markdown that I couldn't resist. Oh, and I've also bought some white skinny jeans, a new bra-and-panty set, among other fun things. I think it's time for me to shop my closet for a little while!

I like pink. Or, maybe you'd call it mauve. But I think one does need to be a little cautious with it. It can look childish if it's done in an over-simplistic way with cheap pieces.
I like to use soft pink as a "faux neutral" and pair it was any other sort of color (the more unexpected the better, in my book). For instance, pink and neon yellow. Or, pink and red. Here the pairings are not so unexpected and, aside from the turquoise print of the skirt and more tonal.
In the top outfit, I over-estimated our weather. My iphone had a little sun and a high in the upper 50's, but the reality was that it was cloudy all day and ended in rain.
In the below outfit I was not happy with the shoe-hosiery pairing. I am giving away these shoes. I think they are a little too whimsical for my taste. I should have worn my sling-back pumps, however against my better judgement I decided on these flats (I wore the pumps just last week).

I have been sick for most of the week. It started Monday night and I stayed home Tuesday and Wednesday. Today I lost my voice. )-:
I am at a critical point in my work project, which make this nagging sore throat and fatigue very annoying. On the other hand, it is probably somewhat the cause for me getting sick because I have been under more stress than usual.
I have taken some time to plan outfits with care, though, so during the week I only need to select an entire outfit based on the weather and my schedule or mood, and all the other decisions about accessories, shoes, colors, etc. are already perfected.

I was inspired a little by early 1960's, a la Mad Men, with the pointed toe pump and the longer-length skirt. I added the brooch because I think it lends a bit more of the vintage vibe I was feeling. I really like how this blouse layers under the lace tee, with the little pointed collar pointing down over the neckline. I buttoned the blouse to the top button in order to emphasize the clean line of the collar.

This skirt is white on the other side. I was trying to do a "swirl" but my remote is too slow! It also has a long tasseled tie down the front.
We had a new employee start at work today. I'm sure she was quite over-whelmed. It's so hard to start a new job!

New Anne Taylor knitted top in "lotion" color, with Tahari leather jacket in "wheat" and grey Paul Green loafers with tassel. Worn shopping on Saturday. I left my poor husband at home studying all day!
New Cloth and Stone tencel shirt in denim-print worn with black camisole. Orchid-colored cropped pants. Recently shortened as I was advised they would be more flattering. Kors by Michael Kors black suede wedges; these shoes are not very high but, I like the shape and think they are pretty chick even without the height.
